Happy Mountain Farm in Covington draws farmers from around the world

Richard Gradwohl, owner of Happy Mountain Miniature Cattle Farm in Covington, welcomed farmers from all over the world Jan. 16.

According to information sent by Gradwohl, he gave several lectures describing his methods of developed 18 completely new breeds of cattle. These breeds have now been dispersed to many countries. Feed efficiency is the key for countries that have sparse vegetation and limited water supply. Concentration of two animals per acre is common whereas with large animals the concentration is typical two per five acres.

Gradwohl has shown that small acreage farmers can do extremely well with the miniature cattle breeds he has developed.
