Black Diamond Community Center’s Gym Programs

The BDCC’s Community Gym is located at 25511 Lawson Street, behind the Cenex Gas Station, in Black Diamond.

 

Dance Classes for Youth

Deana Ostgard teaches dance classes for youth at the Gym. The Pre-Ballet/Tap Combo classes for ages 3-5 are available on

  • Mondays 11-11:45 a.m.
  • Wednesdays 11-11:45 a.m.
  • Thursdays 11-11:45 a.m. and 5-5:45 p.m.

The Pre-Ballet/Tap Combo class for ages 5-6 meets Tuesdays 4:30-5:30 p.m.

The following classes for ages 7 and up are available on Saturdays:

  • Ballet Level 1 at 10-11 a.m.
  • Tap Level 1 at 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Jazz Level 1 at 12-1 p.m.

Tuition is due each month, $35 ages 3-5, and $40 ages 6-9. Call Deana at 360-886-1011 for more information and to register.

 

Jazzercise in Black Diamond

We have several Jazzercise classes with Karen Watling at the gym!  We have a variety of times available.  Mondays 8:30-9:30 a.m. and 4:45-5:45p p.m. Tuesdays 9:45-10:45 a.m. and 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays 8:30-9:30 a.m., 9:45-10:45 a.m., and 4:45-5:45 p.m. Thursday 9:45-10:45 a.m. and 6:30-7:30 p.m. Saturdays 9-10 a.m.  Cost is $35 per month.

Lucky Horseshoes 4-H

Penny Maki leads the Lucky Horseshoes 4-H group on the fourth Monday of each month, from 6-9 p.m. Youth learn about caring for horses and showing them in different events throughout the year. This group is open to all school-age youth.

 

Cub Scouts Pack 581

Cub Scouts Pack 581 meet various times throughout the month, led by Melissa Oglesbee. Pack 581 has four dens, open to boys in elementary school. The program emphasizes shared leadership, learning about the community, family understanding, character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness. The Black Diamond Cub Scouts complete several service projects throughout the year, and attend various events with other Packs in the Puget Sound area, such as the Pinewood Derby and the Pacific Science Center Camp-in.

 

B.A.S.K. (Before & After School Kids) – Childcare Program

BASK is a licensed low-cost childcare program for children gradesK-6th.  It is located in the portable at the Black Diamond Elementary School next to the playground.  BDCC staff provide a variety of educational and recreational activities for the kids.

Our regular hours are 6-8:45 a.m. (school breakfast available at 8:30 a.m.) and 3-6:30 p.m., 2:30-6:30 p.m. on Friday afternoons. Early release days it is open from noon to 6:30 p.m., and most school closure days from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.  Youth need to bring lunches on full days and most half days. Fees during the school year are on a sliding fee scale, from $3.75 to $8.25 per a.m. or p.m. session.  Discounts are available for multi children families on the Free or Reduced Lunch program through the Enumclaw School District.
