Black Diamond After-School Book Bunch at Black Diamond Elementary

My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George

Thursday, March 15, 3:45 p.m.

Ages 8 to 12, parents and siblings welcome.

This book group is open to all, but BDE students staying after school must bring a permission slip from their grown-up on the day of book group. Parents will need to sign out their children with the Children's Librarian by 4:45 p.m.

 

Family Story Times

Mondays, March 19–May 30, 10:30 a.m.

No Story Time on March 26.

All ages welcome with adult.

 

More Auntie Lena’s African Stories

Monday, March 26, 10:30 a.m.

Presented by Thistle Theatre.

Ages 3 and older with adult.

Auntie Lena and her friend Possum are back to tell more stories from West Africa. Puppets illustrate the stories, Why the Sun and the Moon Live in the Sky and Anansi the Spider.

 

Ready-Set-Read

If you are in elementary school, take the Reading Challenge! Read at least 20 minutes per day for 20 days within a month and choose a new paperback book at your community library.

Hands-on workshops on livestock management practices. See a variety of options and work with technicians to discover ways you can have less mud, better pastures, manage manure and care for streams and wetlands. Includes light refreshments.
