Covington Elementary wins Big Lots

Covington Elementary was chosen as a winner for Big Lots's 2012 Lots2Give Video Contest video contest. The elemetnary school is the only winner for the state of Washington.

The contest had schools submit a short video and brief essay explaining why their school is in need of financial support.

These videos were posted online from June 11 through July 8 for public voting.

The school was one of the third place winners nationwide and will be presented with a check for $2000 towards the school supply initiative. In addition, the school expects to receive about $300 from in-store donations.

The celebration will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11 at the Covington Big Lots store on 272nd Street in Covington next to the Covington Hot Yoga.
