August 6, 2012 · Updated 5:34 PM
The Storehouse, a food bank which delivers food to more than 100 families in need in and around Covington, hosts its annual back to school barbecue Saturday, Aug. 18.
Hundreds of children will receive backpacks, hair cuts, clothes, books, dental checks and glucose testing. Single mothers can also have the oil changed in their cars.
Kids can also have fun playing on the inflatable toys all afternoon.
Ten churches partner on this project, including Covington Christian Fellowship which is home to The Storehouse, with donations coming from all over the community to ensure youngsters have a great start to the school year.
