Jenkins Creek Elementary in Covington recognized with 2012 School of Distinction Award for 'outstanding improvement'

Jenkins Creek Elementary was recognized with the 2012 School of Distinction Award for outstanding improvement in student achievement over the last five years.

A total of 97 schools in the state were given the award this year.

Winners include 54 elementary schools, 24 middle/junior high schools and 19 high schools.

The 2012 Schools Of Distinction Awards Ceremony will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24 at the Awards Ceremony at Puget Sound Educational Service District in Renton.
