Creative Kids Exhibit at Spring Fair in Puyallup invites kids 6-15 years to enter competitions
Students 6-15 can enter their work in the Creative Kids Exhibit at the Spring Fair in Puyallup. Entires must be registered by Monday, April 8 at 10 p.m. and delivered between noon and 7 p.m. on April 11 and 12. Winning entries will be on display at the fair April 18 through April 21.
Creative Kids Exhibit categories include seven categories: art, baking & confections, creative writing, paper crafts & scrapbooking, photography, textiles, and an egg drop contest.
Students who submit an entry or entries will receive a free gate admission ticket to the Spring Fair at the time of entry submission.
This year’s Creative Kids Fastest Fingers Knitting Contest is slated for Sunday, April 21 at 1 p.m. Entrants may sign up on April 11 or 12 if they are bringing in other entries, or by noon on Sunday, April 21. Contestants will cast on and knit for 15 minutes in the garter stitch (knit every row). The contestant who has knitted the most stitches in the time allotted is the winner. Pacific Fabrics & Crafts will provide 1, 2, and 3 place prizes in each age division.
The Creative Kids Showcase presentation will be held on Sunday, April 21 at noon in the Pavilion. Students who enter their creative writing on April 11 or 12 can sign up to read their written work to the audience at the Showcase on Sunday.
The Egg Drop Contest displays the containers in KidZone throughout the Spring Fair. Each must be a one egg container that will allow a raw chicken egg to survive, whole and unscrambled, when dropped from a height of 12 and 16 feet or higher. Students must arrive by 2:30 pm on Sunday, April 21 to put the egg into their containers for the 3 p.m. event. Prizes for the three highest eggs dropped in each division will be awarded, which include Washington State Fair gate tickets and rides this September.

The Spring Fair in Puyallup started in 1990, and features family fun.
