Covington accepting applications for Human Services and Arts Commission openings
Human Services commissioners assess the needs of youth and families within the community, recommend human service grant funding, and develop policies and programs to assist with those goals. The Human Services Commission meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
Arts commissioners serve the city as advisors to the city council in matters of art and coordinate various art programs and events in the city, including the monthly artwork display in city hall’s art gallery. Arts commissioners also organize the annual Student Art Walk and the annual Covington Days Art Show. The Arts Commission meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
Positions on both commissions are open to someone living or working inside the Covington city limits or living within a three-mile radius of city limits. Positions for the Arts Commission are open to an adult or a youth (ages 14 to 18 at start of term).
Further information can be found on the web at www.covingtonwa.gov. Applications may be submitted to the attention of Senior Deputy City Clerk Joan Michaud via mail, fax, or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
