Amateur radio communications will be demonstrated this Saturday and Sunday at Lake Wilderness Park as part of a nationwide exercise for “ham” radio operators.

The local activity will involve Maple Valley Amateur Radio Club members. The public can learn about ham radio, how to obtain a federal amateur radio license, and how the operators can help during disasters. The latter is the purpose for the national drill this weekend in which emergency communications will be practiced.
