Firefighters and donors filling boots for MDA

Firefighters throughout the Puget Sound region, including Maple Valley, are out this summer with their boots to collect donations for Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).
The 53rd annual Fill the Boot drive benefits adults and children with neuromuscular diseases.
Locally, firefighters are scheduled to be at the intersection of Kent-Kangley Road and Maple Valley Highway Aug. 29. from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. They’ll beready for motorists to donate cash and checks to MDA.
The International Association of Fire Fighters’ locals from Seattle, Mercer Island, Snoqualmie, Eastside Fire and Rescue, North Highline, Burien, Shoreline, Tukwila, Skyway, SeaTac, Bellevue and Kirkland are also participating in the drive. They’ve already raised tens of thousands of dollars, according to organizers of the campaign.
