Central Washington honor roll includes local students

Students who qualified for Central Washington University’s spring quarter honor roll with grade point averages of at least 3.5 include:

• From Covington, Stephanie Wohlfarth, Alison Steenersonm, Heather Degour, Justin Shewey, Eric Ebbers, Michael Fedotov, Tracy Steenerson, Kendall Anderson, Becca Newman, Danielle Mills, Jessica Allemand and Alyssa Shewey.

• From Black Diamond, Jennifer Dal Santo and Caitlin Estep.

• From Maple Valley, Patrick LaShell, Michael Perman, Jennifer Katzer, Melynda Hooton, Alison Wilson, Thomas Wicks, Carolyn Bunn, Chris Lubenow, Melissa Hamby, Tammy Boorn and Tiffany Thorsheim.

Spruell makes list

Zachary Spruell of Ravensdale, who’s majoring in civil engineering, was named to the Dean’s List at the University of Portland for spring quarter.

The honor requires a grade-point average of 3.5 or better.

Kentlake grad has WSU fellowship

Joy Kirkwood, a 2005 graduate of Kentlake High School, will receive a $2,500 Auvil Undergraduate Scholars Fellowship for 2008-09 at Washington State University.

Kirkwood, who plans to graduate next May with degrees in psychology and Spanish, is the daughter of Marda and Brad Kirkwood.

Lytle a PLU graduate

Christopher Lytle, son of Steven and Sherrie Lytle of Maple Valley, was among Pacific Lutheran University students who graduated in May.

Lytle, who earned a degree in recreation, was a member of PLU’s football team for four years. He previously graduated from John F. Kennedy Memorial High School.
