Maple Valley seeks applicants for Economic Development Committee

The city of Maple Valley is recruiting to fill two alternate positions for the Economic Development Committee.

The committee reviews and makes recommendations to the City Council concerning activities that will further economic development within the city. The committee also assists with implementation of programs and objectives identified on the committee work plan and approved by the City Council.

The committee meets 4-6 p.m. Mondays once a month at City Hall. The committee has seven voting members, two alternates and two ex-officio members. This recruitment is for two alternate positions. Applicants living within city boundaries will receive first priority consideration for appointment; however, applicants who live outside city boundaries may also be considered for appointment.

The City Council seeks to include a diverse and balanced cross section of Maple Valley residents and commercial interests as members of the committee. Members are appointed to two-year terms.

Applications for the EDC are available on the city’s website, or at Maple Valley City Hall, 22017 SE Wax Road, Suite 200 from the City Clerk’s office. You may also request that an application be mailed by calling Maple Valley City Hall at 425-413-8800. Applications are due on or before August 13.
