Each morning I awake

To a golden presence

Beckoning to me

Tempting my greed

Holding my ground

Tossing and turning

Giving in is quite the option

I will deny

For Golden fortune

Isn’t going anywhere

Inhaling and exhaling

Wanting and waiting

Gold is the fortune

That awaits my very life

For I am no king

Nor peasant

Master Nor slave

I am the lifer

The dreamer

For gold lies

In plain sight

For the greedy search

Every nook and cranny

Ignoring all else

Digging away further and further

From their fortune

But I awake this morning

To my golden joy

The smile of my day

My little fortune

And she giggles

And stirs as I wake Her

Ella grace

Its morning

Today is waiting

For your golden aura

(For my little sister)
