Final days of King Tut exhibt

Time is running out to experience the wonders of ancient Egypt. Tutankhamun: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs, on display at Pacific Science Center for the last time in the U.S., closes on January 6. With more than 625,000 tickets sold to date and sales increasing by the day, the Science Center is announcing extended hours during the final few weeks.

“People of the Pacific Northwest and beyond have responded well beyond our expectations – a testament to the extraordinary experiences this exhibition offers,” said Bryce Seidl, President & CEO of Pacific Science Center, “I urge those who have not taken advantage of this truly once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience this exquisite display of Egyptian culture to be sure to visit during the final days.”

To accommodate as many guests as possible during the final weeks and the holidays, Pacific Science Center will be extending entry hours to the King Tut exhibit as follows:

•       Beginning December 26, entry to the exhibit will begin at 9 a.m. until January 6.
•       The final two weekends, December 28 & 29 and January 4-6 will have a final entry time of 10:30 p.m.
•       The exhibit will be open to the public on New Year’s Day with an entry time of 9 a.m.

Extended hours shown above are in addition to the regular exhibit hours that can be found here.

Weekends and the holiday breaks are expected to be very busy with many timeslots selling out in advance. Guests are highly encouraged to pre-purchase their tickets at pacificsciencecenter.org or by calling 1-800-664-8775. During sold-out timeslots, only VIP ticket holders will be admitted. VIP tickets can be purchased through the King Tut exhibition’s 12 exclusive hotel partners.

The King Tut exhibition includes more than 100 breathtaking artifacts from King Tut’s tomb and other sites representing more than 2,000 years of ancient Egyptian history. Many of these objects have never toured in the United States before this exhibit and will return to Egypt permanently once the exhibition closes on January 6, 2013.
