The Maple Valley Creative Arts Council will mark an anniversary when it presents the 10th annual Arts Festival next month.

The event at Lake Wilderness Lodge will coincide with the yearly community celebration, Maple Valley Days, June 14-15.

The Arts Festival will include a live performance area with poetry, music and dance. An indoor gallery space will display visual arts and also feature artists’ demonstrations and hands-on art activities for children.

The visual art exhibit will be a competitive event, showcasing work that will be judged and available for sale to the public.

The Arts Council is accepting entries for the juried art show. A council spokesman said no slides are necessary in advance, and original artwork only will be juried. All artwork will be priced for sale.

The registration deadline is June 6. Mail-in registration forms and additional information is available at www.maplevalleyarts.com.

Organizers said $1,000 in purchase awards is available in the juried exhibit, as well as other awards in the form of People’s Choice.
