Misleadingly titled the “Carbon Emissions Fee Measure,” Initiative 1631 will actually eventually cost taxpayers in Washington state nearly $1,000 extra per year.

According to the Washington Policy Center, I-1631 will increase the gas tax by about 14 cents per gallon by the year 2028, by which time it will be costing the average household up to $877 extra per year in taxes.

That is a huge burden for anyone and it could be ruinous for families who are already struggling financially.

Obviously, I-1631 is nothing but a recipe for disaster, so everyone should vote to reject it.
