Thank you for another successful book sale

The Maple Valley Library Guild wishes to thank the community for its support during our October book and media sale. This sale could not occur without the support of the community who donate gently used books and the hard work of library guild members, as well as community volunteers.

Girl Scout Troop No. 42868 (members Emma Hoerle and Genavieve Scott) collected more than 300 children’s books and distributed flyers advertising the sale. The Latter Days Church had four members that volunteered by moving more than 50 boxes of packed books.

Funds from the biannual book sale are used to fund teen events, adult programming, children’s storytimes and other children’s events, guest speakers and summer programs. The fall sale generated more than $3,000 to help fund these programs.

The Maple Valley Library Guild is a 501 c (3) nonprofit organization and donations of items or cash are greatly appreciated so the outstanding program options at Maple Valley Library can continue to be offered. Checks can be made out to Maple Valley Library Guild and mailed to the library at 21844 S.E. 248th St., Maple Valley, WA 98038 or dropped off at the main counter. Librarians can provide donors with tax donation forms.

The guild meets the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the meeting room at the library. Members can become involved at any level they choose: financial support, donations of materials, assisting with book sales, etc. People can help through Community Rewards Program by choosing the guild as their charity. Smile.Amazon.com; Bartells (sign up for ‘B’ card, our group ID number is 500826755) — up to 4 percent of purchases will be donated and Fred Meyer — if you have their reward card go to www.fredmeyer.com, click on Community Rewards on right side of page to enroll using either Maple Valley Library Guild or LD 362. This does not take away from your earned points.

Thanks again to all who helped make the fall book and media sale a success and who help to keep our library flourishing.

Our current needs are age 5 and under children’s picture books and new volunteers.

Sincerely,

Karen VanTrojen

President Maple Valley Library Guild
