A large gathering enjoyed the Black Diamond Miners Day celebration Saturday.

The activities included a ribbon cutting ceremony commemorating the opening of Railroad Road Avenue. The street has new pavement, sidewalks, lamp posts and an historic appearance.

King County Councilman Reagan Dunn attended the ceremony and Mayor Rebecca Olness used the scissors to cut the ribbon with City Council members also enjoying the activities.

Along with live music there was chili and barbecued ribs contest.

Photographs were taken by Ron Olness.
