Man who allegedly committed forcible rape in Covington area in custody

A man who allegedly committed a forcible rape in the Covington area Sept. 30 has been arrested and is in custody according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.
Sgt. John Urquhart, spokesman for the sheriff’s office, reported in an e-mail the man was in custody Saturday, Oct. 2.
Urquhart wrote in a release that the man “gained access to the victim’s residence by means of a ruse. The suspect threatened physical harm to the victim’s children, who were also present in the residence, if the victim did not cooperate.”
One of the woman’s children is an infant and the other a toddler.
The release noted the man appeared to be familiar with the Maple Valley and Covington area.
