Black Diamond woman airlifted to Harborview following early morning head-on collision

A 64-year-old woman from Black Diamond was airlifted to Harborview with serious injuries following a head-on collision at about 1 a.m. Thursday, May 19, on state Route 169 near 383rd Street outside of Enumclaw.
According to a release from the state patrol, a white Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a 41-year-old Seattle woman was traveling north on SR 169 when it crossed over the centerline.
The Tahoe collided head-on with a white Chevrolet Malibu traveling southbound driven by the Black Diamond woman.
The driver of the Tahoe was placed under arrest for investigation of vehicular assault and transported by ambulance to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the collision.
As part of the investigation detectives are seeking witnesses that observed the collision or either of the involved vehicles prior to the collision.
