A 46-year-old Covington man crashed his vehicle into a business on Kent-Kangley Road after it struck a transport van at 6:30 a.m. on Sept. 13.

Firefighters from the Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety were dispatched to the scene on the 23900 block of Kent-Kangley Road in Maple Valley, where they found the smoke from the 2004 Subaru Legacy's spinning tires had activated the fire alarm.

The male driver was transported to the hospital for further evaluation. The Subaru was totaled.

His condition at this time is unknown.

The business was not open or occupied at the time, and there were no other injuries reported.
