Former Covington Mayor Pro-Tem Bud Sizemore to run for state House

Former Covington City Council member and Mayor Pro-Tem Bud Sizemore has announced that he will challenge first term Rep. Mark Hargrove for the state House in the 47th Legislative District.

Sizemore stated in a press release he will seek to bring a consensus building approach in upcoming legislative sessions to avoid partisan bickering that has lead to gridlock.

“Proposals to end antiquated tax breaks like closing the loophole for out of state banks should be no brainers yet hard line partisans like my opponent refuse to side with local families over Wall Street banks,” said Sizemore.  “I think voters are tired of excuses and obstructionism and I plan to be out in our community with an open ear listening to what citizens care about – not lobbyists and other special interests.”

Sizemore lives in Kent where he works as a professional firefighter.
