The fourth annual Maple Valley Farmers Market fresh fruit pie baking contest was Saturday, Aug. 11.

The judges were:

Polly Shepherd - Maple Valley-Covington-Black Diamond Reporter publisher

Andrea Keikkala - executive director of the Kent Chamber of Commerce

Cheryl Castagna

Shaunna Lee-Rice - City of Maple Valley city clerk

Laura Moser - Municipal & Community Relations Manager at Waste Management

Youth (17 & under)

1st Place Sarah Wheeler Blackberry Pie

2nd Place Emily Romnes Black and Blueberry Pie

 

Adult (18-49)

1st Place Jami Gima Apple Cherry Pie

2nd Place Stacey Mitchell Blueberry Crumb Pie

 

Senior (50 & over)

1st Place Mary Ann Baker Blueberry Peach Pie

2nd Place Doris Mech Red, White & Blueberry Pie

3rd Place Crystal Holder Apple Pie
