September 15, 2012 · 11:15 AM

Reservations are filling up fast for the September 25 spay/neuter clinic at the King County Pet Adoption Center. Pasado’s Safe Haven Mobile Spay Station will visit Kent to provide low-cost or free spaying and neutering for cats at this special event. South County Cats is sponsoring the visit.

There are a limited number of slots available, so appointments are required. To make an appointment, contact South County Cats at 206-910-4495 or email southcountycats@comcast.net. Only cats and kittens will be accepted at this event, and kittens must be at least ten weeks old. The cost of surgery is subsidized by South County Cats for limited-income south King County residents.

“Part of being a responsible pet owner is making sure that you prevent unwanted litters,” said Dr. Gene Mueller, manager of Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC). “We’re happy to join with South County Cats and Pasado’s Safe Haven in helping cat owners take care of this important task.”

“We are excited to bring Pasado’s Safe Haven Mobile Spay Station to the Pet Adoption Center,” said Sally Halela, director of South County Cats. “Partnering with Regional Animal Services of King County and Pasado’s to increase spaying and neutering of cats in south King County will prevent many litters of kittens, and reduce the number of cats and kittens that are surrendered to the center in the future.”

The King County Pet Adoption Center is located at 21615 64th Ave. S. in Kent. For more information about RASKC, visitwww.kingcounty.gov/pets.
