Fire district taking applications to replace late commissioner
June 24, 2008 · Updated 12:59 PM
Mountain View Fire and Rescue, seeking to fill a vacancy among its commissioners, is accepting applications from prospective appointees.
July 9 is the deadline for letters of interest and resumes to be submitted to the agency, also known as King County Fire District 44.
Position 3 has been open since then-commissioner Kenneth Seng died May 7. The remaining four commissioners will appoint his successor, who would serve until an election for the seat is held in November 2009.
Seng had been a commissioner since January 2004.
Applicants to replace him must be a registered voter and must live within district boundaries. The district’s service area covers 70 square miles and includes the city of Black Diamond and unincorporated areas of King County.
District officials said applications can be mailed to KCFD 44, 32316 148th Ave SE, Auburn, WA 98092. They can also be e-mail to info@kcfd44.org.
Commissioners are usually elected and serve four-year terms.
