- About Us
End of the summer construction season | South King County
- Beginning Friday, Sept. 13 until Monday Sept. 16, two of four lanes on northbound I-5 will be closed near Mercer Street while contractor crews work to replace three worn and aging bridge expansion joints. During the day, our maintenance crews will extend the closure to the north end of the Ship Canal Bridge to repair parts of the deck.
- The SR 520 floating bridge will be closed between Montlake Boulevard to I-405 from 11 p.m. Friday, until 9 a.m. Sunday. During that time, contractor crews near Medina will shift the westbound lanes to the south to create a work zone, and other crews near Seattle will pour concrete for the West Connection Bridge.
Expect heavy traffic going into Seattle on both northbound and southbound I-5, along with the I-90 floating bridge. Make sure you add extra time to your trip, carpool or take transit.
SR 18 repair work
We have a couple projects that will close all westbound lanes of SR 18 from I-90 to Issaquah-Hobart Road Southeast from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14. During the closure, maintenance crews will fix several sections of damaged guardrail and repair parts of the roadway.
Saturday night special - Skagit River Bridge
Installing the new permanent span for the I-5 Skagit River Bridge will be quite an accomplishment this weekend. The contractor has a tough job ahead, but is confident they can swap out the two temporary spans for the new one in 12 hours beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 with plans to reopen by 7 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 15.
