$1 million in federal money earmarked for GRCC and cancer network

A proposed U.S. Senate spending bill includes $1.1 million for programs affecting the south King County area.

Green River Community College would receive $300,000 for its computer reporting technologies program. And the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, a regional cancer treatment network that includes the MultiCare clinic in Covington, would receive $800,000.

The money is among $4.6 million proposed for healthcare, workforce training and education programs in King County. according to Sen. Patty Murray. The proposal is awaiting Senate action.
