Incumbents lead in 5th and 47th districts primary election results

The first wave of primary election numbers were released Tuesday, Aug. 5 at about 8:15 p.m. and incumbents were leading in both the 47th and 5th legislative districts.

Legislative District 47 - State Senate

Carol Barber(Prefers Democratic Party) 5,412    33.91 percent

Joe Fain(Prefers Republican Party) 10,550    66.09 percent

Legislative District 47 - State Representative Position 1

Mark Hargrove(Prefers Republican Party) 9,376    58.58 percent

Chris Barringer(Prefers Democratic Party) 6,630    41.42 percent

Legislative District 47 - State Representative Position 2

Pat Sullivan(Prefers Democratic Party) 8,309    51.98 percent

Barry Knowles(Prefers Republican Party) 7,676    48.02 percent
