Maple Valley City Council candidate debate set for Oct. 15

It’s time for another City Council political debate.

The Reporter newspaper is sponsoring a debate at 7 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Rock Creek Elementary gymnasium, 25700 Maple Valley-Black Diamond Rd.

The moderator for the evening will be Gary Habenicht and The Greater Maple Valley-Black Diamond Chamber of Commerce will provide timers.

The debate will feature three City Council races.

Position No. 2 between Jim Flynn and Bill Allison, Position No. 4 with Erin Weaver and Councilman David Pilgrim and Position No. 6, Stanette Marie Rose and Councilwoman Victoria Laise Jonas.

The debate will last 1 hour, 45 minutes with questions from the newspaper’s editorial staff and written questions from the audience read by the moderator to the candidates.
