Election Day is Tuesday, remember to vote

Tuesday is Election Day and hopeful candidates will be waiting for first returns from election offices around the state.

The King County Election office has sent out a schedule for posting returns to its Web site.

The first returns will be posted at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday for the mail-only election.

After Tuesday the returns will be posted daily 4:30 p.m. to Nov. 24 when the canvasing board meets to certify the results. The final results will be posted at noon Nov. 24.

The election office reported on its Web site 17.76 percent of the ballots have been received for the city of Maple Valley, 2,186 of 12,312 issued by the office.

For the city of Black Diamond 573 ballots have been received, 21.90 percent. There were 2,616 issued.

Covington came in at 15.12 percent, 1,398 ballots received of 9,243.

Ballots must be postmarked by Tuesday or placed into a drop box.

There are a drop boxes at the Black Diamond Library, 24707 Roberts Dr.
