The Washington State Patrol reminds motorists to plan ahead for a safe New Year’s celebration.

Alcohol impairs people's judgment and decision making ability. WSP remnds motorists to make prior arrangements before leaving for a party. Arrange for sober transportation to and from a location or make arrangements to stay the night. Plan ahead so you’re not forced to make a decision after you have been drinking.

The WSP’s King County holiday enforcement team will be out all weekend in full force removing impaired drivers from King County highways. In addition to regularly scheduled troopers, the holiday enforcement team consists of a select group of eight troopers and one sergeant who will be solely concentrating on DUI and aggressive driving enforcement.
