Maple Valley fire units responded to house fire at 11:12 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5 in the 20700 block of Maple Valley Highway Southeast.

Aid 81, Engine 81, Battalion Chief 81, Engine 80, Engine 83, Chief 84, fire marshal 81, King County paramedics, Kent engine 17 and battalion chief 13 were dispatched to the fire. Firefighters made entry and found heavy fire at the front door. The fire was quickly extinguished, however damage to the structure was extensive. The cause was from an overheated electrical extension cord. One person was treated at the scene.
