The 31st Legislative District is brimming with candidates for both State House seats and the Senate position.
Patrick Reed, a Republican from Sumner, announced he is a candidate for the State House Position No. 2.
Reed is challenging incumbent Christopher Hurst, D-Greenwater.
State House Position No. 1 has drawn four challengers to incumbent Dan Roach, R-Bonney Lake. However Roach is planning to run for the Pierce County Council seat held by Shawn Bunney, R-Lake Tapps.
Bunney cannot run for the county council again because of term limits. He has declared his intention to run for Roach’s State House Position No. 1.
Cathy Dahlquist, an Enumclaw Republican who is currently an Enumclaw School Board member, is also seeking the Position No. 1 seat.
For the Democrats, Ray Bunk is running for Position No. 1.
Ron Weigelt, also a Democrat, has filed with the Public Disclosure Commission for both Position No. 1 and the Senate seat currently held by Pam Roach, R-Auburn.
