A fifth grader assaulted a school employee on April 28

ASSAULT

• A fifth grader assaulted a school employee on April 28. According to the police report, there was a lunchroom disturbance at Covington Elementary. A fifth grader slapped a school employee with a bag of carrots. The student was suspended for five days. Employee fears possible additional problems in the future with the same student.

• It was reported on May 4 there was a mutual fight in the Mattson Middle School locker room.

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE VIOLATION

• It was reported on April 25 that the Maple Valley Fire Department was dispatched to check a smoking electrical transformer in front of a house. When the fire department arrived, they found a marijuana growing operation going on.

• Suspects were trespassing at Lake Wilderness after hours on May 3. A police officer found suspects trespassing with beer, drug bong and marijuana.

LARCENY

• A female was arrested for shoplifting on April 26. According to the police report, the female concealed clothing at Kohls in her handbag.

• A shoplifter was reported on April 28. A female suspect was apprehended by loss prevention for shoplifting at Fred Meyer in Covington. The female concealed unpaid merchandise in reusable shopping bags and pushed their cart outside without paying. The suspect was booked into Kent jail on an unrelated misdemeanor warrant and charged with theft by investigation.

• RV batteries and propane tanks were stolen on April 29. According to the police report, the theft of batteries and propane tanks happened overnight at Airstream Adventures parking lot.

• A male and female were caught shoplifting on May 3. The couple were both trespassed from Home Depot and were both booked on warrants.

• An unknown female stole for the fourth time on May 5. The unknown female suspect has stolen Nike shoes still in the boxes on four different occasions from the Fred Meyer shoe department.

VANDALISM

• A vandalized car was reported on April 28. A car was parked on a public roadside when it was vandalized.

• It was reported on April 30 that a rock was thrown through a window on the side of a house.

• A fence sprayed with paint was reported on April 28.

FAMILY DISTURBANCE

• On May 1 21-year-old and 13-year-old sisters got into a fight. The two sisters got into mutual combat, slapping one another while in a car. The 13-year-old sister eventually took the 21 year old’s car. The reporting party did not want the car to be reported stolen.
