All Tahoma and Kent schools closed today

Due to power outages, the districts have closed all schools for the day.

Tahoma School District

The following is a press release from the Tahoma School District.

All Tahoma schools will be closed today Monday, Jan. 7, due to continuing power outages at three school buildings and the Transportation Department.

Extended Enrichment Program (EEP) for all locations will be at Lake Wilderness Elementary, and opened on a 2-hour delayed schedule at 8 a.m.

The district Job Fair that had been scheduled for this afternoon is postponed.

Kent School District

The following is an alert from the Kent School District.

All Kent School District schools are closed today, Monday, Jan. 7 due to power outages across the district and the remaining debris that needs to be cleared from the storm.

The central admin office is open and operating during normal business hours.

There is no preschool and no out of district transportation, and all evening events are cancelled.
