Bring your dog to Lake Wilderness for Tails ‘n’ Trails

Left Behind K-9 Rescue will host its inaugural fundraising fun run at the popular park, found at 22500 S.E. 248th St. in Maple Valley.

The “Tails ‘n’ Trails” 5K will see participants walking or running to benefit the local animal welfare organization. The 5K begins at 10 a.m. and there’s also a 1K course for kids.

Runners and walkers are welcome to take part with their dogs.

Participants will receive an event T-shirt and “swag” provided by sponsors. The day also will feature refreshments and snacks, free microchipping, complementary chowder from Ivar’s, raffle prizes, awards and more.

The cost is $30 for the 5K and $20 for the 1K. Registration for the event closes at 8 p.m. Oct 7.

Left Behind K-9 Rescue is a local, nonprofit organization that strives to save homeless dogs through its rescue, transport, foster and adoption programs. It is managed and operated solely by volunteers who strive to prevent the euthanasia of healthy dogs.

LBK9 is based in Covington, regularly hosts pet adoption events at Petco in Bonney Lake and has partnered with Buckley Veterinary Clinic for pets’ medical care.
