Man sent to hospital due to smoke inhalation on Sunday

Maple Valley Fire and Renton Regional Fire Authority extinguished the fire in his garage.

A man was sent to the hospital on July 3 due to smoke inhalation. The smoke orginationed from a fire that started in his detached garage, located on the 17800 block of East Spring Lake Drive Southeast in Renton.

The victim was working on a vehicle part in the garage when the fire started, according to a Maple Valley fire press release.

Maple Valley Fire & Life Safety and Renton Regional Fire Authority responded to the incident and extinguished the fire, and were able to keep it away from the nearby house. Two other people were inside the house at the time of the incident and were not hurt.

The fire is currently under investigation by the King County Sheriff’s Office.
