Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety responded to a house fire in Cherokee Bay at about 11:40 a.m.
Firefighters on the scene found a two-story home on fire.
Firefighters from the Kent Fire Department and King County Fire District 44 assisted.
The Dos FC premier soccer club boys U16 team, based in Kent, collected six hundred pounds of food for the Maple Valley Food Bank.
The team chose the holiday meals food drive as part of a community service project. In addition to food, the boys collected checks from the community to purchase needed items for the food bank.
The city of Maple Valley announced Nov. 24 it will launch a new Web site Dec. 15.
According to a press release the Web site was developed with Vision Internet, a company based in Santa Monica, Calif.
