Residents living near the site of where a proposed Lakeside Industries asphalt plant may be located have raised concerns about the affects of the business on the surrounding area.

The residents have organized two protests at the site of the proposed plant — 18825 SE Renton-Maple Valley Road — and started an online petition to stop the plant construction.

King County Product Line Manager Randy Sandin with the Department of Permitting and Environmental Review said nothing is set in stone yet. He said the county and Lakeside Industries are in the planning stage of the project.
