The Mountain View Fire and Rescue is looking for a new fire commissioner following the resignation of Dan Bjurstrom

Dan Bjurstrom had been the commissioner since 2008. Prior to his appointment, Bjurstrom spent eight years as a volunteerfirefighter with Mountain View.

“The Board of Fire Commissioners, Fire Chief and members of the Department wish to thank Mr. Bjurstrom for his service tothe District and those the District protects, he has been an instrumental leader and highly respected by all members of theDepartment,” according to a media release.

Resumes are now being accepted for the fire comissioner position No. 3. Applicants must be a registered voter and live inthe district boundaries. The appointed position, the release said, will terminate upon the certification of the November 2017fire commissioner election.

Applications should include a one page resume, one page explaining your reason behind wanting to serve, proof ofresidence in the district and current King County voter registration.
