Thank you voters for passing the 252-million-dollar bond that will allow us to reduce overcrowding by building two new elementary schools, adding 20 new classrooms at overcrowded schools where needed most, and making a host of other sorely needed improvements in safety, utility and infrastructure.

Imagine this. You’ve enjoyed a fun weekend in Eastern Washington, but you have to head home in the morning. Your friend goes to bed but even though you will leave early to get to work in time, you decide to stay up all night. By the time you have driven an hour, you’ve already stopped once for coffee to stay alert.

I am one of the lucky few who became a citizen, and I can honestly say I am the American dream. My parents moved me and my brother to the United States for a better life. They knew we would have better opportunities in the U.S. as opposed to Mexico. And so far, we have.
The Black Diamond Community Center’s 25th annual fundraising dinner auction,held Oct. 1, was a huge success. We made $8,500 more than last year. All moneymade from this event stays in our community to help seniors and families whoneed assistance. We provide food, gas vouchers, dairy cards, rental assistance,clothing, emergency vehicle repairs, housing repairs and help with prescriptionsdrugs.
