Vote yes for Kent School District bond | Letter to the Editor

This letter is a thank you to Kent and Covington residents from years past. Thank you for taxing yourselves to build the schools I attended. In the halls of these buildings, I learned math, history and science. My soul was moved through singing in choir. My body was made stronger through sports. My life was improved and my success was made possible by Kent schools.

Now I am attending the University of Washington. I am working to help put myself through college, and while I’m not paying a lot in taxes, I’m proud that what I do pay is going for things our community needs.

As I get older I promise to stay involved and to help build and maintain the schools of our community for the next generation. In the meantime I hope that the current taxpayers will remember to vote yes for school bonds on the upcoming ballot.
