Maple Valley runners compete in race this weekend

Two Maple valley runners, Brian, 10, and Faith Martinez, 8, have qualified to run in the 2012 USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships this weekend in Albuquerque, NM.
They qualified after running in the USATF Junior Regional Cross Country Championship in Spokane and the State Championship in Seattle.
Brian and Faith were both state champions on Nov. 10, qualifying them for the regional meet in Spokane on Nov. 17. Three states were represented in the meet (Idaho, Washington, and Oregon). Faith Martinez won her race and Brian Martinez finished sixth in his race.
Over 3000 runners will be competing in the national championship race.
In the regional championship race, Faith averaged 6 minutes, 51 seconds per mile pace for her 2k race. Brian averaged 6:16 per mile for his 3K race.
