Maple Valley runners top finishers at 5k/10k

Nearly 1,900 people participated in Kent’s 31st annual Christmas Rush Fun Run/Walk on Saturday.

Curtis Surer, 27, of Colorado Springs, Colo., won the 10K in 32 minutes, 46.6 seconds. A total of 296 runners competed in the 10K race.

Riley Campbell, 18, of Maple Valley won the 5K in 16:27.1. There were 1,570 participants in the 5K run.

The course started and finished at Russell Road Park.
