The Maple Valley Bulldogs, a U12 Olympic baseball team, won the 6th Annual All-Star Blowout tournament on June 22 by going 5-0 and defeating the Silverdale Lobos in the championship game. The title helped the Bulldogs advance to regionals on July 24 at Yauger Park in Olympia. The MV-based team went 2-1 in pool play in Olympia, thus earning a berth in last weekend’s West Zone tournament in Valencia, Calif. Maple Valley finished in a tie for fifth place in Valencia, where they went 1-2. The Bulldogs are just the second Maple Valley team since 1971 to advance to the California-based tournament.
