Maple Valley 8-year-old finishes third in golf tourney

Madeline Jones, an 8-year-old entering fourth Grade at Lake Wilderness Elementary School in Maple Valley, placed third in the girls 7-9 Division at the second Annual Washington Subway Games Golf Tournament held Saturday at Riverbend.

Jones is a member of The First Tee of Seattle and has been playing golf for just over one year, according to her father, Paul Jones. This is her first individual tournament placing.

Jones is also a player on the First Tee Seattle Riverbend 2 PGA Junior League Team, which won its final match of the season 7-5 at High Cedars in Orting on Saturday following the Subway Games.
