Emerald Downs 15th season set to open April 9 | Horseracing

The 15th season of Emerald Downs 89-day race meeting begins Friday, April 9, and continues through Sunday, Sept. 26, pending approval by the Washington Horse Racing Commission.

Race days are scheduled Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays beginning in April.

Thursday racing will begin June 10 and continue through Aug. 26. A holiday racing scheduled is planed for Memorial Day, Monday, May 31, and Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 6.

The 75th running of the $250,000 Longacres Mile, Grade 3, will highlight of meet at Emerald Downs.

The Longacres Mile, the richest race in the Northwest, is Sunday, Aug. 22.

The Emerald Downs stable area opens Friday, Jan. 29, with training beginning Monday, Feb. 1.
