It was one of those games for the Tahoma boys soccer team, just as a victory was within reach it slipped away.
The Bears lost to Kentridge 2-1 at French Field Friday. Tahoma dropped out of first place in the South Puget Sound League, 4A North Division by one point.
Auburn Riverside leads the league with a 6-1-2 record and 20 points and Tahoma with a 6-2-1 record and 19 points.
The game against Kentridge was knotted at 0-0 until the 60-minute mark with Esteban Tobon hit for Kentridge with an assist by Anthony Legault.
Tahoma continued to battle and tied the game at 71 minutes from a Kyle Miller kick.
Momentum seemed to shift in favor of the Bears, but a penalty kick from Scott Geffre in the final minutes sealed the loss.
The Bears will be looking to get back on top of the league standings today on the road at Thomas Jefferson.
