The Kentwood Conquerors have beaten the defending 4A state champions Federal WayEagles

For the second time in two weeks, the Kentwood Conquerors have beaten the defending 4A state champions Federal Way Eagles.

The latest win came Feb. 18 in the title game of the 4A West Central District tournament.

The Conks won 77-59.

The first meeting was Feb. 4 when Kentwood won 69-59. That was Federal Way’s first loss in 63 games.

And the two are set to face off again at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25 at Puyallup High School in the regional round of the 4A state tournament.

No matter the outcome Saturday, both Kentwood and Federal Way will advance to the state bracket with games beginning March 1.

The Conks went 4-0 in districts. It beat Union 75-71 in the semi finals on Feb. 16.

Kentwood Girls

The Conks season game to an end Feb. 10 with a 50-38 loss to Tahoma.

Kentlake Girls

In a loser out game on Feb. 14, the Falcons beat Tahoma 59-37.

The win advanced Kentlake to a game aganist Todd Beamer where no matter the outcome, both teams would advance to state.

The Falcons won that match up 56-39.

Kentlake will tip off aganist Camas at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25 at Rogers High School in Puyallup in the regional round of the 4A state tournament.

Both Kentlake and Camas will advance into state bracket with games beginning March 1.

Tahoma Girls

The Bears season ended one game shy of the regional round of the state tournament.

Tahoma lost 59-37 to Kentlake on Feb. 14.
