After losing the first two games of the season, the Kentwood Conquerors won its third game in a row.

The Conks beat Hazen 54-13 Sept. 30 at French Field.

The Conks sit tied for first place in league play in the North Puget Sound League Cascade division with a 3-0 record.

Kentwood is tied with Mount Rainier. The Rams are 5-0 overall.

The two are set to face each other today, Oct. 7, at 8 p.m. at Highline Memorial Stadium in Burien.

Returning to French Field Oct. 14, the Conks look to finish out the season facing district rivals Kent-Meridian, Kentridge and Kentlake.

Kentlake

The Falcons started the season 4-0 and lost its first game of the season last week.

Kentlake traveled to face Kennedy Catholic where it lost 41-24.

The Falcons are tied for second place in the NPSL Cascade division with a 2-1 league record.

The first quarter saw no score for either team. But less than four minutes into the second quarter, Kentlake struck first with a field goal.

Following the Falcon’s three point lead, Kennedy Catholic scored three touchdowns taking a 21-3 lead into halftime.

The third quarter saw two scores for each team with Kentlake scoring first out of the locker room on a 5-yard touchdown run by junior quarterback Brandon Mortenson.

The second Falcon touchdown in the third was a pass for 29 yards from Mortenson to senior receiver Brian Dye.

After three, the Falcons trailed 35-17.

The Lancers scored its final touchdown of the game in the beginning of the fourth quarter.

The final score of the game was a 4-yard touchdown run by junior running back Marques Fuala’au.

This week the Falcons are set to host the Tahoma Bears at 7 p.m. at French Field.

Tahoma

The Bears (1-2, 1-4) won its first game of the season 48-20 over the Kentridge Chargers.

Tahoma scored first on a fumble recovery for 75 yards by senior Aidan Harmon. After the first quarter, Tahoma was up 7-0.

The Chargers tied the game early in the second.

Two passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown gave the Bears 27-13 lead at the half.

Kentridge scored on a rushing touchdown midway through the second.

The Chargers came within seven after scoring on a 14 yard rushing touchdown.

Tahoma would add to its lead with two more touchdowns in the third.

The first was a 22-yard pass from junior quarterback Conner Lambro to senior receiver Josh Smith and the second was a 30 yard run by Lambro.

And the final score of the game was another touchdown this time for 1-yard by Lambro.

Lambro was 16 for 22 on the night, scoring three of the Bears’ touchdowns.
